Employers are people too

Employers are people too, which means when it boils down to it, they hire people they like.

That doesn't mean you don't have to practice good answers to interview questions, and it doesn't mean that any of the other interview tips you may have heard, are not still valid.

It just means that once you have proved that you have what it takes for this job, the employer then wants to see that you are someone who will fit in and be liked by the team.

So as you go through the interview, don't forget to let your personality shine through. Don't be afraid of some gentle humor. Smile. Treat the employer as you would any other person you meet and hoped to get on well with.

Gauge your level of formality to that of the employer, but don't forget s/he doesn't just want to know what you can do, s/he also wants to know who you are.
